StrangeFlow The sonic dawn are back with another 60s psychedelic rock album and - as the previous ones - it's catchy, well arranged and interesting. I'd say they didn't do anything completely new in this recording, yet it's diverse and full of what I like about the sonic dawn. Personally I also like how the lyrics in this one are staight to the point (do some psychedelics! ) Favorite track: Loose Ends.

Henrik Thøgersen The Sonic Dawn carry on the legacy of the late sixties Danish psych scene with unabashed fidelity and free-flowing flair. Fed tjald, mand. Favorite track: Shape Shifter.

You know, that it’s true But it will never happen to you I know that old age is coming my way My way, my way I know that no one is here To stay, to stay, to stay Young love Old hate Time seals our fate Some day Your generation’s Gonna grow old Grow old, Grow old And it’ll be up to you Not to grow cold Grow cold, Grow cold Young love Old hate Time seals our fate Only love is true Don’t let hatred get the best of you Plain Jane Or straight up insane Insane, Insane as time goes by No one stays the same the same, the same Young love Old hate Time seals our fate You know, that it’s true But it will never happen to you
2.
Past, present and future All melted into one Don’t know how we got here Don’t know what we’ve done All my friends are dopers So I guess they’ll know just what to do And it’s a groovy ride So I guess I’ll just see it through (let it slide) Listen to hits of acid Float away on a rainbow Free you soul to groove on the track And just let the days go Sortilege, please tell me Where to find some peace Escape from the stress Get out from underneath the press You need to relax man Smoke some weed and listen to some wax Spend time with friends And try to widen the magnifier lens
3.
Loose Ends 05:03
If you take all of your loose ends and tie them together Maybe you will have just enough to escape forever Fallen out of place Suddenly you don’t belong All it takes is to realize That almost everyone gets it wrong Why don’t we go and get high Live life under a clear blue sky Stay out late and watch the stars and leave our worries behind If you feel like it’s time to go Pack a bag and get ready There’s no reason to take it slow Leave behind all that is heavy Get out while you can Break the spell that you’re under Don’t wait till you’re an old man Who just wishes he was younger Why don’t we go and get high Live life under a clear blue sky Stay out late and watch the stars and leave our worries behind Why don’t we go and get high Live life under a clear blue sky Float away on a rainbow Go wherever a warm breeze flows
4.
You know you can’t defeat it (Cause) It lives inside your head You’ve been on the outside of every room That you’ve ever been in You know you can’t release it Cause it’ll never let you go You’ve always been a 1000 miles From everyone you’ve ever been with There’s a chemical solution For what you have in mind The answer to your questions Lies far beyond your line of sight Children of the night Waiting for the light If you wanna catch a dream Follow a flower downstream Lovers of the light Trying-to set things right You long for change But there are options that you’re afraid to try There’s a chemical solution For what you have in mind The answer to your questions Lies far beyond your line of sight There’s a chemical solution For what you have in mind The door in the back leads To a garden growing wild
5.
Shape Shifter Never stays the same Always just a drifter Shape Shifter Never stays in one place Always a just a drifter Shape Shifter Shifting shape Sheds all of its dead weight Never in one place for too long Tomorrow it will all be gone Don’t know if its your grip that slips Or if you just don’t want to stick Doesn’t care what’s right or wrong Just fading away along with its song Shape Shifter Lonesome Drifter Shape Shifter Lonesome Beautiful Drifter Shape Shifter I’m the Lonesome Drifter Even if I wanted to stay You know man, Nothing’s prettier than the peace of mind That I leave behind Leave Just leave everything behind Change your shape And slip quietly out the back Make your escape Slip out between the cracks Leave Just Leave Leave Just Leave
6.
A ghost in broad daylight Can’t find it’s way back to night time Its shadow travels restlessly In search of a destiny Enter the mirage The dream that you’ve been chasing The star that you saw from afar Its soft pulse that you have been replacing The phantoms are all rising Like water on the horizon Softly they are calling you home Inviting you into the unknown
7.
Let me tell you something For I have seen the end There are certain rules in this world That even money won’t bend We’re sealing all our exits Closing all the doors No way back and no way out no more We are trapped We’ll never get out of here alive A soul sacrifice You’re all just waiting around to die Get up every morning Get to work on time Lose another day It’s just another price you have to pay Wasted all your moments Grinding in the gears of some big machine that’s taken all of your best years We are trapped We’ll never get out of here alive A soul sacrifice You’re all just waiting around to die
8.
If what they say and do is true I guess it was never really up to me and you If all you need is food and rest I think that you’ve been missing out on all the best Man, you’re a long way from home Out here everyone is all alone If you’re so far from where you wanna be Maybe it’s time to open up your eyes and see Give them the slip and come with us on a trip Ease your grip and join our psychedelic fellowship If what you want is nowhere to be found why is it that you still stick around Hop on the bus and come along There are many more out there just like us When all is done and said Get on the road and join the Dead You might think that it’s all in your head (and) You’re not wrong, so try and live it out instead Give them the slip and come with us on a trip Ease your grip and join our psychedelic fellowship
9.
Sun Drifter 03:51
I know that nothing ever goes the way it should and I know that you did everything you could Now I just hope that you’re out there somewhere feeling good and that some day these/the dark clouds will evaporate Sun Drifter Moon Eclipser On the darkest night Your light shines bright I wish that I could erase you being sick And just remember all the good things that you did Some days I feel too young to walk (through life) alone But when I feel lost, you still show me the way home Sun Drifter Moon Eclipser On the darkest night Your light shines bright
10.
UFO 04:32
We are not alone We are not alone We’re not on our own Anymore They've come from the stars With love in their eyes Full of compassion More beautiful than you can imagine UFO I’m ready to go UFO Please take me home Bright lights are flashing The night sky is contrasting All of my questions I hope they don’t mind me asking Where are we from Where can you go When you don’t fit in With your own kin UFO I’m ready to go UFO Please take me home

about

Enter the Mirage is The Sonic Dawn's fourth full-length, and was created to have the same energy as the band's psychedelic live concerts. The album's overall theme is freedom. It is about visions that may seem too distant to be real, but only those who take the trip will ever really find out.
